Bend Us, Lord
Praying from Revelation 4:11 – Father we worship and bless You. We ask for an open heaven over the nation of Wales. We pray that you would pull down the walls and barriers in our churches and break in with Your presence. I pray that You would wake us up again! Wake up the churches in Wales. Come wake us up by Your Spirit and help us to pray more and seek You. We prayed for those who have known You, who have been distracted and have fallen into sin, and for those who don’t yet know You, to be awakened by Your voice – calling to us and drawing us home. This nation is Yours and You have favoured us.
Thank You that Your Word says, “Bless the Lord at all times and we will bless You at all times, Your praise shall continually be on my lips. And as we do boast in You, the humble and the afflicted will hear it and rejoice – Psalms 34:2. So we declare over this nation that we will boast in the Lord and the humble and afflicted will be lifted up. Your word says that we should fear You and there should be a reverence and an awe as we worship You. When we worship you with reverence and awe, the angels will encamp around us and like what the Psalmist says, “ You are a Deliverer in his times of need.” We can take refuge in You, Lord and taste and see that You are good. Thank You Lord for challenging me on how I truly revere and worship You with godly fear. I am also praying for the fear of God to go through Your churches too. I pray that we would know that sort of worship once again in this nation. You did it once and I am asking for it again. I pray that we would carry the fear of God in our lives and the humble and afflicted will be lifted up!
Father you say that You dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. We pray You would come and make us a people who are humble before You and acknowledge You as our God. Take away our ‘I’, ‘Me’ and, ‘Myself’ and come be the centre of my life. You take delight when we humble ourselves before You. Bend and align our wills to Yours. We ask for a brokenness of self to come over Your church and people. Turn their hearts to You that they will acknowledge You as their God again. Return to Your rightful place Lord.
The word ‘humility’ resounded in the meeting and we continued to ask for His humility to come over His people, His church, and even in our own lives. As the Lord humbles us, we began to repent for the things that have been done which has grieved His heart. In the position of humility, we are able to see with clarity the things that God is most concerned with – His nations, His church, and His people.
Ending with Isaiah 60:19-22,
19 “The sun shall no longer be your light by day,
Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you;
But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light,
And your God your glory.20 Your sun shall no longer go down,
Nor shall your moon withdraw itself;
For the Lord will be your everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning shall be ended.21 Also your people shall all be righteous;
They shall inherit the land forever,
The branch of My planting,
The work of My hands,
That I may be glorified.22 A little one shall become a thousand,
And a small one a strong nation.
I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”
Help us to recognize You and take down all barriers in our hearts that would stop us from receiving You fully. Cleanse us with the Refiner’s fire and open our eyes to see You. We look to You as this nation’s everlasting light and we pray that Your people shall be righteous so they will inherit the land and You alone will receive the glory You deserve. Have Your way in this nation and be the light that hearts will turn to in times of darkness.
